Sometimes the photography just works. I don’t know why or when or with whom but sometimes I just feel that it falls into place more than usual or with an easier flow.

With Nicola and Mark’s Ibiza wedding this was the case. Thankfully because when I met them both a few months before the wedding they were very specific with the photos they loved. They showed me lots of examples, not every couple does this, of what they wanted out of their day and what they really liked in my photos. Those who know the way I shoot at a wedding know that I do not always have this control of getting the exact same shot over again as I leave a lot to ‘how it passes’ with each couple and am continuously looking for the natural moment again. Everyone is different so there is always something new to find.

For these two though I really feel I made some of those moments over again and found something new. Some brides wander why it they should have ‘the getting ready’ part of their day photographed- maybe it will be too busy or too stressful or not interesting enough, just dresses hanging and makeup going on- but for me when I can photograph it with creativity and get something photographically great out of it I know it is a great part of the day to shoot too. It tells the beginning of a story.

In here I see some of these photographs where creatively I have satisfied but photographic soul.

Thank you Nicola and Mark. x
